
The Department of Agriculture, led by Secretary Manny Piñol, conducted a nationwide information campaign that offered consultations to farmers’ groups and stakeholders on the recently signed Rice Tariffication and Liberalization Law.
Its main goal is to address the concerns of the farmers, farmers’ groups, and stakeholders in accordance with the implementation of the new law to ensure the effectivity of its rules and regulations.
Republic Act 11203, known as the Rice Tariffication and Liberalization Law, was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last February 15, 2019. It is an act that allows the importation, exportation, and trading of rice.
The campaign was composed of four sessions which took place last February 26 in Nueva Ecija, February 27 in Batangas, February 28 in Davao, and March 1 in Iloilo.
