Following the successful inaugural staging of the World Coconut Congress (WCC) last 2018, the United Coconut Associations of the Philippines (UCAP), a confederation of associations or organizations involved in the various activities of the coconut industry, formally opened the 2nd World Coconut Congress at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

“The Department of Agriculture is ready to partner with the different sectors in coconut production to create a more inclusive market and eventually reach Philippine export quality,” said recently appointed DA Secretary William D.  Dar.

About 100 local and foreign exhibitors linked to the coconut industry will be present during the three-day event to accommodate guests who are interested in the trade.

The WCC 2019 will also welcome the International Coconut Community (ICC) officers and ministers from its member countries who will be in the Philippines to celebrate ICC’s 55th Anniversary.

Apart from housing numerous exhibitors in the coconut industry, the 2nd WCC also has several conferences that guests can attend.

Conference topics include coconut production and value chain, the latest on coconut oil health research, marketing coconut food products, and others.

“At the end of the day it is our responsibility to ensure the prosperity of the coconut farmers—that we are here to sustain and nurture the local product,” the DA Secretary said.

The WCC will also be attended by around 400 delegates from various locations in the country to learn more about coconuts and its potential.

Drop by the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from August 27 to 29 to partake in the various activities that the 2nd WCC has to offer!
