Last April 29, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Region 10 (BFAR-Region 10) provided around 600 kilograms of fish products to the local government units of Sumilao, the city jail, and partner agencies.
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology received 200kgs, the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail and Rehabilitation Center received 120kgs, the City Social Welfare and Development was given 80kgs, and the LGU of Sumilao was given 200kgs as a part of the agency’s efforts to provide assistance amidst the COVID-19 crisis.
Aside from its partner agencies, Teodoro A. Bacolod Jr., BFAR-10 Regional Director, also urges the bureau to extend aid to partner agencies and other offices to create a united front against the pandemic.Â
This initiative is also geared toward helping the fisherfolk market their products as well as addressing the top priority of the Department of Agriculture which is the unhampered delivery of food products.Â
