Basel Manadil, more popularly known as the Hungry Syrian Wanderer, distributed vegetable relief goods to residents of Metro Manila. This famous vlogger, who has 2.41 million subscribers on his official YouTube channel, is known for his random act of kindness towards Filipino people who are in need of help.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Manadil had been sending help to people through his own little ways. From giving away canned goods and cash aids as relief assistance, he now distributed tons of vegetable relief goods sourced from local farmers.

The Hungry Syrian Wanderer’s Facebook post about vegetable relief goods he will be distributing to the public.

In his official Facebook post he wrote: “Buying tons of vegetables to give away to our Kababayan. I’m having a break from giving canned goods, mas masustansya kung kakain po tayo ng gulay (it’s healthier if we eat vegetables) and at the same time we help farmers by buying their products.”

Manadil also used second-hand boxes to pack the relief goods instead of plastic. He added that this is a simple contribution to the Filipino people who he treats as his own countrymen despite having different races.

Relief packs contain broccoli, eggplant, bitter gourd, chayote, banana bud, carrot, tomatoes, water spinach, snow cabbage, and banana. These goods were distributed to frontliners, passerby, and to anyone who needs it.
