Many parents are concerned with helping their children grow to the optimum height for their age. While height is usually determined by genes, several studies have discovered that food also influences a person’s height, especially during their growing years.

Here are seven foods that play a role in helping kids grow to their ideal height requirements:

1. Carrots

Aside from being delicious and suitable for almost any dish, carrots are packed with vitamins B, C, and K, biotin. It also has several health benefits like improving the immune system and eyesight.

2. Eggs

Since they’re full of protein, eggs act as a building block in a child’s physical growth, making them an important part of their diet. The protein available in eggs helps in building, developing, and maintaining muscles as well as tissues in the body. Eating eggs can also help kids stay full and improve their concentration.

3. Green leafy vegetables

Kids aren’t the only ones who can benefit from consuming leafy green vegetables. Adults who consume green leafy vegetables daily can get a supply of calcium which is known to strengthen bones.

4. Nuts

There’s a belief that giving children nuts will help boost brain power. But aside from that, nuts are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are beneficial for kids’ bones.

5. Soybeans

Another food that can help kids grow is soybeans. These are high in protein and beneficial for children’s bone health. And if they don’t like cow’s milk or are lactose intolerant, soy milk poses as a great substitute that provides consumers with enough vitamin D, calcium, and protein.

6. Whole grains

Incorporating whole grains in childrens’ diets is beneficial since they’ll get a source of vitamin B, magnesium, selenium, zinc, iron, and calcium which all help in strengthening bone health.

7. Yogurt

High in protein, calcium, vitamin D, and zinc, yogurt helps in the growth and development of children. And it also keeps their gut healthy.

While children’s heights depend on their genes, some food can help them grow into the ideal height for their age as well as develop a healthy physique.
